Agreement with European Space Agency:

Today is a great day! We have presented the agreement to become a drone test site of the European Space Agency - Business Incubation Centre.

The event has been presented by authorities from the Government of Catalonia such as the Presidency Minister, Neus Munté, the Secretary of ICT Governance, Jordi Puigneró, the General Manager at the European Space Agency - Business Incubation Center (ESA BIC), Bruno Naulais, and the CEO & Founder of the BCN Drone Center, Jordi Santacana.

The objective of the agreement consists in facilitating the use of dedicated UAV test sites to all drone-related ESA BIC start-ups guaranteeing all the necessary technical and safety conditions. This iniciative will help bridge the gap between ideas and actual businesses.

Ambas compañías colaboradoras habituales de LleidaDrone, CATUAV, ponente en nuestras jornadas y host en su único BCN Drone Center para nuestras pasadas VI Conferencias, y Erle Robotics, también ponente habitual de nuestras conferencias y pionero mundial en el uso del Linux como sistema operativo en los autopilots Erle Brain, anuncian un acuerdo conjunto por el cual Erle será el proveedor oficial de autopilots de los Drone de CATUAV, considerados entre los mejores del mundo a nivel profesional, con sus modelos Atmos 6 y Argos.

Erle Robotics fabrica actualmente su segunda versión del autopilot Erle Brain 2, con la cual integra 100% el potente sistema operativo robótico ROS (Robotics Operating System), lo cual facilita la integración de múltiples sensores y posibilidades dadas las posibilidades abiertas y extendibles del sistema.

Ambas compañías son partners junto a otros como Hemav, Divisek y la Fundación ICIL, de nuestro proyecto Drone Logistics Platform, donde diferentes proyectistas universitarios avanzaron durante el pasado curso en el concepto de una plataforma de delivery de última milla para Drones, usando los autopilots de Erle Brain y cuando se pueda, realizar las pruebas del sistema en las instalaciones que CATUAV tiene en Collsuspina, Barcelona.

16/03/2016 Acuerdo Estratégico entre ERLE Robotics y CATUAV
ERLE Robotics será a partir de ahora el proveedor oficial de pilotos automáticos para toda la gama de sistemas UAV de CATUAV. Gracias a la potencia del nuevo ERLE-BRAIN2 será posible desarrollar aplicaciones y servicios que requieren de inteligencia a bordo en un formato compacto y a precio asequible. Este acuerdo incluye también la participación de ERLE Robotics en los proyectos científicos y cursos de formación organizados por CATUAV en el BCN Drone Center.

Los compañeros de CATUAV, conjuntamente con AEDRON, Asociación Española de Usuarios de Drones y Afines, organizan un interesante curso con la siguiente descripción:

"Fixed-wing drones piloting and operation course in which you will learn all basic theory behind this systems (how they fly, how you control them, which are the basic design factors to take into account...). At the same time you will receive practical training on drone piloting and operation, what accounts for the 50% of the total course time.

The course program is designed to all experience level students, from beginners to experts. Thanks to dividing the class into small groups of maximum 4 people, we can adapt the training to everyone needs. "

De camino a la charla que dimos en Tordera sobre Drones y Agricultura de Precisión, paramos a visitar al compañero Jordi Santacana en las instalaciones de CATUAV en Collsuspina.

New edition of UAV remote-sensing course:

The 3rd edition of the UAV Remote-Sensing Principles course has raised a lot of interested, being at this moment practically full. To be able to allocate everyone interested in coming we have decided to open the 4th edition of the course just the week after, from8th to 12th of June. This new edition will have exactly the same content as the previous week course, following the same formula used in previous course editions. Those people that have already fulfilled the payment or directly told us that have just done that do not have to worry about their place in the 3rd edition course. Other registered assistants that have not done so will be automatically switched to the 4th edition of the course if they do not state otherwise.
